PE Engineer (Product / Production Engineering)
About the Role:
The PE (Product/Production Engineering) Engineer is responsible for the in-depth failure analysis of products during the production process and the development of effective, permanent solutions. This role is critical in identifying root causes of defects and ensuring problem closure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed failure analysis on defective products or components identified during the production process.
- Utilize various diagnostic tools and techniques to determine the root cause of production failures.
- Collaborate closely with Quality, Process, and Design Engineering teams to understand failure modes and mechanisms.
- Develop and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to resolve identified failure issues.
- Track the progress of implemented solutions and ensure problem closure, verifying the effectiveness of changes.
- Document failure analysis findings, corrective actions, and their impact in comprehensive reports.
- Provide technical support and guidance to production and maintenance teams regarding failure analysis and problem resolution.
- Participate in design reviews and DFM (Design for Manufacturability) activities to prevent future production issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in product or production engineering, with a strong focus on failure analysis in a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of electronic components, manufacturing processes, and common failure mechanisms.
- Proficiency in using various analytical and diagnostic tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, microscopy, X-ray).
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills (e.g., 8D methodology, Fishbone diagrams).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple problem-solving initiatives simultaneously.
