We are looking for a Paralegal Supervisor who will supervise a team of Prelitigation Case Managers and Front Office Manager(s) to ensure delivery of quality work and world-class client service. Monitor performance and attendance of team members, effectively provide guidance and leadership, and promptly address staffing and performance issues. May carry a minimal caseload of high value or complex prelitigation files. Assist in the planning and implementation of programs and procedures to meet business objectives of timeliness, quality, customer service, and legal compliance. Understands and supports the mission of the firm. Effectively leads by example. Demonstrates the core values of the firm; be a champion for others, be innovative, and be accountable.
Requirements
Responsibilities include:
- Monitor the completion of all phases of case management tasks and promptly address deficiencies
- Oversee and manage weekly demand goals, review team dashboards, evaluate data, and take appropriate action
- Ensure ongoing communication between attorneys and case management staff
- Oversee the settlement process to ensure all SOP is followed and all documentation is present
- Communication with assigned staff to promptly address questions, concerns, suggestions, training needs, and performance issues
- Weekly supervisor and team meetings to review events, standard operating procedures, conduct supplemental training, and address team questions
- Clearly communicate objectives and expectations and enforce compliance
- Participate in office events to foster morale and teamwork. Partner with attorneys to achieve effective teamwork and communication
- Monitor staff performance and compliance
- Provide timely constructive feedback, coaching, recognition, and training
- Promptly document, address, and communicate performance reviews, deficiencies, and attendance issues
- Monitor time and attendance
Qualifications:
- College preferred
- Personal injury paralegal experience required
- Paralegal certification a plus
- Supervisory experience in an insurance or legal environment required
- Effective leadership, mentoring, and coaching skills to motivate others to achieve goals
- Lead by example with a high level of integrity and ethical behavior
- Ability to listen, solve problems, and build trust to maintain a collaborative and cohesive team
- Proven knowledge and experience with all stages of a personal injury case
- Thorough understanding of legal case management systems and processes
- Professional written & verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle conflicts professionally, objectively, and respectfully
- Ability to analyze facts/data, form fair conclusions, make sound recommendations, and exercise good judgment
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Ability to balance priorities, adapt to change, and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain a broad, strategic perspective
- Automation experience: Microsoft Office, Outlook, PDF, and legal software programs
