Job Summary:
This position is part time (20 hours or less) a week and reports to the Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer. The position involves providing comprehensive administrative and support services for student employment and human resources. The position will manage the process and assist students with the full life cycle of student employment.
Responsibilities and Job Duties:
- Provides information and guidance to assist students and hiring managers with student employment.
- Post and manage on campus student employment jobs.
- Coordinate with students and hiring managers to work through the recruitment, interview and hiring process. Assist students with completion of the onboarding process.
- Creation of student employment contracts for students hired.
- Responsible for the new hire onboarding process to include using the HRIS system to assign onboarding checklists, setting them up as necessary within the system for the job, assignment of contract, completion of I-9’s and E-Verify for clearance of the student to begin working.
- Prepare and maintain student employee files, assuring accuracy, compliance and confidentiality.
- Process changes in student employment jobs that may occur throughout the year.
- Assign student employment training through Canvas to supervisors and ensure compliance.
- Ensure that Student Employment Policies & Procedures are followed.
- Coordinates, schedules, and conducts student employee supervisor meetings, as needed.
- Prepare and maintain reports, queries, and conduct appropriate audits to ensure data integrity.
- Serve as a member on the student employee committee.
- Assist with various administrative tasks within the Human Resources office such as filing, or other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience and Education:
- Associates degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent level of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience required.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced computer skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: excel, word, outlook, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to multi-task, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Must be organized and able to effectively prioritize time.
- Strong communication, time management and customer service skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
