Citizens National Bank has an excellent opportunity available in our local market for a Mortgage Loan Originator. In this role you will be responsible for offering expert financial services for consumers, covering everything from financing home purchases, construction and refinancing of owner-occupied residential real estate. Additional loan products include home equity lines and loans, vehicle loans, and other consumer financing options.
A typical day may include the following:
- Being available to meet and interview potential loan customers onsite or offsite.
- Meet with loan applicants to evaluate their financing needs; explain the available financing options and provide assistance with the customer's selection of loan programs that best meet their needs.
- Obtain all necessary information from the borrowers for verification of deposits, employment and any other underwriting requirements necessary for the loan approval.
- Convey to underwriter any comments made by the borrowers regarding their past or present financial history that may influence the credit decision.
- Finalize the completion of a loan application with established interest rates, terms and fees.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to clients of Citizens National Bank, specializing in Residential and Consumer Loans.
- Cross-sell other bank products and services.
- Attend weekly department and sales meetings.
- Maintain the appropriate licensing and/or continuing education credits needed to perform this job.
- Represent Citizens National Bank at appropriate business development functions, community events and business groups.
- This position requires travel to outside offices/locations at times to meet with management, staff and others, however on-site presence is also necessary for regular, successful performance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or five years related experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Continuing education to remain current with required licensing.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years experience in a financial institution or loan setting is preferred
- Previous sales experience
- Basic understanding of financial institution policies and procedures.
- Must have stellar written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of professionalism
- Proficiency in computer software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must maintain a well-developed working knowledge of the bank's products and services, along with the applicable regulations and operating systems.
- Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
