SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

Responsible for planning, coordinating, scheduling, and analyzing preventive maintenance for facilities and maintenance assets. This role focuses on optimizing the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and streamlining planning and scheduling processes within the organization. By enhancing maintenance operations and asset management, the Preventive Maintenance Planner ensures efficient use of resources and technology to boost reliability. Specifically, this role manages the preventive maintenance (PM) plan, which outlines the processes, tools, and resources for effective preventive maintenance. The main goal is to minimize equipment failure, reduce unexpected downtime, and extend asset lifespan.

  • Oversee the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of the CMMS, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop and execute training programs for staff to maximize the effective use of the CMMS and its features.
  • Analyze maintenance data to create and prioritize job plans, ensuring optimal resource allocation and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify maintenance needs and implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies.
  • Maintain an up-to-date asset inventory, ensuring accuracy in asset records, including location, condition, and maintenance history.
  • Implement asset tracking methodologies to improve visibility and accountability of equipment and machinery.
  • Function as a resource for maintenance and operations teams, providing guidance on using the CMMS effectively and planning maintenance activities.
  • Engage with IT and software vendors to ensure system updates, integrations, and ongoing support.
  • Facilitate communication between various departments to promote awareness of CMMS capabilities and functionalities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience with CMMS software management, including planning and scheduling expertise.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance management principles and practices.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of effective preventive maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
