In support of the mission of West Chester University, the Facilities Division designs, constructs, and maintains a dynamic, safe, and sustainable campus to continually advance its nationally benchmarked living and learning community. The campus comprises approximately one hundred buildings and structures encompassing residence halls, parking garages, classroom buildings, performance spaces, athletic spaces, food service areas, administration buildings, research facilities, libraries, and multiple utility systems including geo-exchange, electric, water, storm, and sewer.  

Reporting to the Executive Director of Facility Support to Auxiliary Buildings, the Manager of Facility Support to Auxiliary Buildings works closely with leadership to provide oversight and support the development, implementation, and maintenance of facility-related support services for WCU residential halls, student recreation centers, student union, dining and food service centers, and other auxiliary buildings. In collaboration with campus partners, this position supports the execution of the University’s and PASSHE (Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education) guidelines and procedures in advancing sustainability efforts. As part of the leadership team, the incumbent will support the Division’s work related to student success. As needed, the Manager of Facility Support to Auxiliary Buildings liaises with the university community and strategic partners to develop and execute goals and objectives. The position is primarily in-office with the possibility to work remotely on occasion.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of working and managing relationships with contractors. The individual can effectively communicate (oral and written) and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.  The candidate has a strong customer service focus and fosters a commitment to the expectations and requirements of internal and external stakeholders. With the support of leadership, this person demonstrates attention to determining priorities while balancing business and operational needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee turnover services by safeguarding quality control measures to ensure the highest level of resident satisfaction
  • Assist with the oversight and quality control of outsourced work
  • Ensure proper communication with campus partners
  • Work with staff, perform monthly inspections and risk assessment to identify maintenance needs, capital improvements, and building condition
  • Ensure residence hall move-in readiness
  • Oversee and maintain accuracy of facility capital planning software (VFA Facilities) for assets and systems
  • Assist with work order management
  • Support the development and implementation of Residence Life and Housing policies and procedure
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Position Duties

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated work experience in property management, facilities management, or equivalent management experience
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite such as Outlook, Word, and Excel

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience using property management or facility management software 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally, and present dynamically to a variety of constituents

Other Qualifications

The salary for this position is $86,565. (Non-negotiable.)

As a member of the Facilities Divisional staff, this position is deemed essential. Essential employees must remain or report to work during partial or full day closings of the University due to hazardous road conditions, emergency circumstances or for other reasons.  This position requires the ability to respond to urgent situations outside of regular work hours and report to campus as needed.
