ROLE HIGHLIGHTS
The Technical Design Coordinator plays an important role in maintaining the high standards of garment quality and integrity throughout the production lifecycle. Key responsibilities include evaluating garment specifications, overseeing sample development, coordinating production activities, and ensuring design accuracy through proactive communication with global factories. Additionally, this role involves generating comprehensive technical packages (techpaks), managing approvals for labels and trims, and actively supporting new product development initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Evaluate garment specifications, fit, and construction across pre-production, top of production, and new development samples.
- Track activities related to production, duplication and custom development.
- Schedule and attend fittings, develop garment size, construction specs and grading.
- Generate techpaks (CAD illustrations, BOM's, construction / label details), distributing them internally and globally.
- Communicate technical requirements with global factories to ensure design accuracy and integrity.
- Support the approval process for new product development from design through initial delivery.
- Customize and update techpaks for existing and new styles as required.
- Ship reference garments, color swatches, and accessories, maintaining detailed tracking documents.
- Attend continuing education and training programs focused on color rating, fibers, technical design, and other relevant topics to support professional development.
- Assist the QA Lab Supervisor as needed in day-to-day production approvals based on workload.
- Manage timely approvals for labels, hangtags, accessories, and trims.
- Track and report on sourcing and production-related functions and processes.
- special projects as assigned by the Manager.
Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE COMPUTER SKILLS
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in fashion/Technical Design or a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Demonstrated high proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES
May be required to have a valid driver’s license and meet Vantage Driver Approval requirements.
