The Indirect Procurement Manager manages the full sourcing lifecycle of materials and services across the indirect procurement categories, supports their stakeholders throughout the process and actively maintains supplier relations.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead sourcing and contracting activities for complex, high-value indirect procurement categories and strategic projects
- Develop and execute category strategies in collaboration with global indirect team and internal stakeholders to optimize cost, quality, and service
- Conduct detailed market analysis, supplier benchmarking, and risk assessments for assigned categories
- Manage the full sourcing lifecycle, including RFIs, RFPs, negotiations, contracting, and supplier award
- Negotiate commercial terms, service level agreements, and warranties with strategic suppliers to secure best value
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk management teams to ensure contractual protections and regulatory compliance
- Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to foster innovation, performance improvement, and mutual growth
- Conduct total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses to inform procurement decisions and identify cost reduction opportunities
- Lead supplier capability assessments and support supplier development initiatives
- Report on savings performance, sourcing pipeline status, and risk exposure to senior procurement leaders
- Support implementation of procurement technology solutions to enhance efficiency and visibility
- Provide procurement expertise to stakeholders, advising on market conditions, supplier capabilities, and contract terms
- Ensure supplier diversity, sustainability, and ethical sourcing considerations are incorporated into procurement decisions
- Identify and implement process improvement initiatives across sourcing workflows
- Serve as category subject matter expert for internal stakeholders across the organization
Job Requirements and Experiences:
- Bachelor´s Degree
- Minimum 5 years of procurement experience
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer & supplier relationships
- Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
- Strong communication sills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
- Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
- Good understanding of operational and strategic procurement processes & systems
- Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
- Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively negotiate and communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
- Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), SAP S4/Hana and Teams
- Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
- This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWECE office and field locations
- Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time
Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $105,000 - $158,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
