About the Role
Make a real impact behind the scenes of Nottingham’s library services.
Are you organised, proactive, and looking for a role where every day is different? We’re looking for a Library Support Officer to join our Business Team and help keep our libraries running smoothly.
In this key role, you’ll provide reliable and efficient administrative, financial, and performance data support to library services across the city.
You’ll be involved in a variety of tasks, including, processing purchase orders, invoices, and financial transactions; collecting, inputting, and checking data to help improve our services; assisting with office administration, stock control, supplier management and room bookings; and responding to customer and colleague enquiries by phone, email, and in person.
There are 2 Part-time posts available:
Post 1: 19 hours per week (anticipated Monday - Wednesday)
Post 2: 18.5 hours per week (anticipated Wednesday - Friday)
This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, managing multiple tasks, while making a difference to the communities we serve.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Essential:
- Proven experience providing administrative and financial support in a busy office environment.
- Confidence using a range of IT systems, particularly Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and databases.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the confidence to handle enquiries and resolve issues professionally.
- A flexible, team-focused approach, but also able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines while remaining calm under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing performance data and financial orders.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of finance processes and procurement (or the willingness to learn)
