General Duties:

The Orbital Warfare Task Lead/Subject Matter Expert position is a full-time, on-site position that will lead instruction and maintenance of Space Operations course material at the 319th Combat Training Squadron, Peterson SFB CO for the Officer Training Course (OTC).    

Specific duties:

• Lead a team of personnel in the design, development, and instruction of orbital warfare (OW) training materials
• Develop, qualify on, and deliver in-residence OW course materials consistent with the principles of Instructional Systems Design (ISD), and aligned to 319 CTS instructions, security classification guides, and other guidance as identified
• Interface with internal and external orbital warfare and analysis agencies as required to maintain a state-of-the-art training program
• Coordinate instructional activities with government personnel
• Additional duties as assigned

Required Skills:

• Demonstrated expert knowledge with orbital mechanics, orbit determination and analysis, maneuver planning, Rendezvous Proximity Operations (RPO), orbital engagement maneuvers, and space surveillance operations
• Possess expert knowledge of capabilities, limitations, and vulnerabilities of US and foreign space systems
• Possess working knowledge of and experience with operational level command and control
• Highly skilled communicator, experienced in providing platform instruction to an academically diverse audience. Completion of Air Force Instructor Course or similar joint instructor course preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
• Active or current Top-Secret Clearance and SCI eligibility required

Education and Required Experience:

Education:

• PhD from an accredited institution in relevant field (engineering desired) or a master’s degree and 10+ years of additional experience may be substituted for education requirement

Experience:

• Minimum of 8+ years of OW-related experience either in industry, academia, or with a U.S. Government agency

Salary Range:

• $135,000 -- $175,000 (annually)
