What you Will Be Doing
The Private Billing Manager is an integral and valued member of the Revenue Services team. The Private Billing Manager is responsible for the Medicare Benefit Schedule (MBS) revenue (doctor billing for Inpatients & Outpatients and Outpatient Radiology services) at Peninsula Health, managing the MBS Billing & Compensable Teams and maximising revenue and billing opportunities by developing and implementing process improvements.
The Private Billing Manager is required to ensure billing practices comply against the guidelines set out in Health Insurance Act 1973, MBS and National Health Reform Agreement (NHRA), process improvement of billing practices, and provide directive/guidance of practices.
The Private Billing Manager also ensures reporting of results, revenue journals, providing MBS education to various key stakeholders, administrator of Zedmed billing system, staff management, communication with medical staff, health professional and key stakeholders involved in MBS, billing and revenue processes, and assist with the development of revenue opportunities

What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
- MBS billing / legislation interpretation experience 5+ years
- Experience working within a health service 5+ years
- Previous staff management experience 3+ years
- Experience with Private Practice Agreements 3+ years (desirable)
- Experience working within a public health sector (desirable)
- Bachelor in Health Management or equivalent (desirable)

*Please refer to Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2025 salary circular for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
