As a Payroll Officer for Australia, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services for Australia and New Zealand based customers. You’ll be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing, maintaining compliance with legislation, and delivering a high-quality service experience to both internal and external stakeholders.

On a typical day you’ll be…

  • Managing your own client portfolio and processing end-to-end payrolls
  • Importing payroll data into payroll software and maintaining accurate payroll records
  • Acting as the primary contact for your clients, managing queries and delivering fantastic customer support
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and procedures to enhance service delivery and team efficiency
  • Maintaining up-to-date client payroll manuals and ensuring all manual checks and calculations are accurate
  • Ensuring compliance with payroll legislation, including Fair Work, PAYG, Superannuation, and STP
  • Communicating any risks to service delivery promptly and realistically to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Proactively contributing to solutions and mitigations when issues arise
  • Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and internal control standards

Does this sound like you?

  • Experience in Australian payroll processing, ideally in a client-facing or multi-client environment
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in payroll systems (Employment Hero) and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first approach
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively under pressure
