Forvis Mazars’ Federal Tax Specialty practice is experiencing exponential growth and is seeking talented professionals who are passionate about helping our clients achieve their goals.As a Federal Tax Specialty intern at Forvis Mazars, you will be responsible for assisting engagement teams with the execution of engagements to identify and support cash-generating tax incentives. Our interns participate in project planning, assist in identifying, quantifying, and qualifying business activities and preparing supporting documentation.Forvis Mazars’ Federal Tax Specialty professionals help clients select and enforce strategies that promote growth and savings. Services include but are not limited to:Research & Development Tax Credit StudiesTransaction Tax ServicesCost Segregation StudiesAccounting Method OptimizationFederal & International Tax AdvisoryIRS Controversy SupportHow you will contribute:Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team helping to provide subject matter knowledge and experience. Industries include but are not limited to manufacturing, technology, retail, and utilities.Identifying, analyzing, and qualifying value-oriented benefitsPerforming tax research related to tax technical topicsUpdating and maintaining project milestones and action itemsConducting client interviews, gathering and reviewing client documentation Substantiating results on consulting projects through presentations and written reports to clientsAssisting in the research & analysis of client data Organizing incoming documents and files from clientsProviding project status updates to the client and internal stakeholdersCompiling and reviewing project reportsServing the needs of the client by planning, coordinating, and executing cross-functional projectsDelivering Forvis Mazars’ commitment to unmatched client experience through timely and responsive communication with internal and external clientsWe are looking for people who have Forward Vision and:Effective time managementStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to work well with a team as well as independentlyProblem-solving attitudeWillingness to take initiativeClose attention to detailAbility to work under pressure and against deadlinesMinimum Qualifications:Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, other majors might be consideredAbility to travel to client locations, which may include occasional overnight stays (travel expectations vary by service line and office location; talk to your local recruiter regarding specifics)Ability to work overtime, as neededProficiency with Microsoft Office SuitePreferred Qualifications:Maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher (in major and overall)Data Analytics related coursework is not required but highly desirableApplicants for positions with Forvis Mazars must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
