Job Title: Compliance Analyst

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Compliance Analyst will be responsible for ongoing Plan Amendment preparation and participation in document preparation and review for the Takeover process. The Analyst will follow pre-approved project plans to complete the assigned tasks timely and completely. Analysts will work closely with team leadership to perform tasks as assigned. This position will be exposed to all compliance courses to further a minimum mid-level knowledge of retirement plan regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
o Demonstrated intermediate expertise in ERISA, DOL, and IRS regulations pertaining to retirement plans.
o Independently identify issues and resolve by accurately researching and interpreting plan documents (i.e., individually designed plans and prototype)
o Consistently perform all duties with accuracy and timeliness to adhere to established service expectations in interactions with our internal business partners and clients.
o Serve as the supporting secondary client contact during the implementation or takeover phase
o Participate in all transition weekly calls
o Work with PEO Takeover Lead to ensure client is successfully transitioned
o Review and analyze client data for timeliness, completeness and accuracy
o Specializing in project assignments surrounding the following areas:

Preparation of Plan Amendments

o Review Plan Amendment Requests from Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs), Adopting Employers, and internal departments via JIRA ticketing system.
o Review and analyze 401(k) plan specifications to ensure Plan Amendments comply with IRS and DOL regulations.
o Utilize Salesforce to amend existing adoption agreement and determines appropriate amendment template to utilize based on the amendment request
o Efficient, compliant, and accurate preparation of 401(k) Plan Amendments for Single Employer plan, PEOs and Adopting Employers.
o Track the amendment process from draft to client delivery to complete execution by the worksite and/or plan sponsor
o Export Plan Amendments into PDFs and secure emails for both employer and PEO signature via CongaSign.
o Comprehensive documentation of amended plan specification(s) within JIRA
o Interact with business partners to facilitate timely and accurate amendment preparation

Multiple Employer Plan takeovers.

o Works with internal teams and external clients to successfully transition a Multiple Employer Plan takeovers with respect to document work.

New Multiple Employer Plan implementations.

o Reviews and summarizes Plan Sponsor plan specifications
o Administers the distribution of new plan documents to clients of the Plan Sponsor.
o Partners with PEO Takeover Lead to gather executed Slavic forms and documents for review, revision, and standardization and uploads finalized documents into Salesforce.
o Provide guidance for the PEO Takeover process, status and deadlines to stakeholders related to document preparation and execution

o Perform other duties and responsibilities as required

Skills & Abilities
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internal databases
• Extremely detail oriented and organized
• Comfortability managing highly repetitive tasks
• Ability to work independently and with accuracy
• Ability to prioritize competing tasks in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
• Ability to understand IRS and DOL regulations as they pertain to retirement plans
• Ability to build internal relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders
• Excellent professional, verbal and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders

Experience
• Minimum of 2+ years of progressive 401(k) compliance industry experience required.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in ERISA, DOL, and IRS regulations pertaining to retirement plans.
• 2+ years of intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel experience (i.e., sort/filter data, VLOOKUP function)
• 1+ year of Salesforce or other CRM required
• 1 year 401k recordkeeping software (Relius) experience required

Education
• Bachelor’s degree in business, political science, or related field of study or equivalent combination of education and additional experience

Certificates & Licenses
• QKA license preferred
• Obtain Retirement Plan Fundamentals (RPF) 1 certificate required within 1 year of hire / RPF 2 within 2 years

This role will have a base pay range of $60,886-77,500. Please know, this is the base range only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for this role. This position is also eligible for annual performance bonus based on company and individual goals.
