JOB DESCRIPTION

Knightscope is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our Procurement team. This individual will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services critical to the manufacturing, repair, and deployment of Knightscope’s safety technologies.


The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement of electro-mechanical, electrical, and communication components (e.g., radios, batteries, sensors, cameras, solar/power systems) as well as general MRO and indirect spend. The Buyer will play a critical role in ensuring cost efficiency, supplier quality, and timely availability of materials, directly impacting Knightscope’s ability to deliver and service its products.


RESPONSIBILITIES

· Source, negotiate, and purchase components, raw materials, and services to support manufacturing, field service, and R&D needs.

· Process purchase orders, track deliveries, and ensure accurate documentation.

· Obtain quotes from vendors to establish pricing and lead time.

· Monitor open orders and maintain a good status to support Knightscope operations

· Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with internal teams to identify purchasing needs.

· Resolve discrepancies in orders, invoices, shipments, or delivery timelines.

· Manage supplier relationships, ensuring consistent quality, reliability, and competitive pricing.

· Maintain accurate purchasing records in ERP (Netsuite).

· Support audits and compliance efforts related to procurement and vendor management.

· Resolve issues related to deliveries, quality discrepancies, or invoicing in coordination with Finance and Operations.

· Continuously seek and implement improvements in the procurement process to enhance efficiency and scalability.


.QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (or Associates Degree with equivalent experience).

· Minimum 1-2 years experience as buyer, purchasing agent, or equivalent.

· Basic knowledge of purchasing processes and supply chain principles.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook);

· Experience with ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) required.

· Positive attitude and mindful approach to challenges.

· Exceptional organizational skills.
