Additional Information: Show/Hide POSITION SUMMARY: The Camera Technical Assistant supports safety and student management for scholars who ride school buses equipped with video cameras. This position is responsible for assisting the Camera Technician in the installation, operation, configuration and maintenance of school bus video hardware. This includes, but is not limited to, cleaning and checking camera operational status, equipment updates, adjustment of camera position, calibrating specific camera components, disassembling and repairing mechanical parts and instructing camera operators of proper care and use.

Install, repair, test, maintain and troubleshooting of all camera equipment
Provide customer service and represent Transportation in a professional manner
Read and comprehend manuals
Installing/Pulling cable
Mounting camera heads devices, computers, power supplies
Programming, set-up, testing systems
Testing and inspections
Must maintain confidentiality at all times
Other Responsibilities
Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills on camera and video technology
All other duties as assigned within your qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent 2 years of experience installing, troubleshooting and maintaining security cameras
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Technical certification in Electronics or related field
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: Criminal background clearance Work scheduled hours on a consistent basis Valid Washington State Driver’s License Post-hire, pre-employment physical

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly stand and walk, bend neck and back, use hands for holding, repetitive grasping and pushing/pulling. The employee will frequently be required to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer screen and keyboard. The employee may occasionally be required to squat, stoop, kneel, and use hands for fine manipulation, climb stairs/ladder, lift and reach overhead, and lift/carry. Position requires hearing, speaking. The employee must constantly lift/carry up to 10 pounds and must frequently lift /carry up to 25 pounds. The employee will occasionally lift/carry a maximum of 40 lbs. The employee is occasionally required to push/pull a maximum weight of 100 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in indoor and outdoor conditions. This position regularly works near video display; reading and watching a monitor, writing and keyboarding. Required to work outdoors in what may at times be extreme weather conditions including hot, cold, wet, windy, dirty, and snowy or frozen conditions. Position will consistently be required to work from high places such as ceilings, ladders, as well as from small spaces and other limited spaces. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. WORK SCHEDULE This position typically works, 2 hours per day, Monday through Friday, 180 days per year
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP This position reports to, and is evaluated by Transportation Manager.
