SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for supervising the sanitation procedures of a FDA Facility with multiple flour and corn processes making sure the plant meets all FDA requirements and the production lines start-up on time. Ensures employees follow Company policies and procedures. Ensures sanitation quality and department efficiencies are maintained at or above standards. Supports the commitment and continual improvement to Food Safety and Quality prog rams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sanitation Management:
- Perform day-to-day sanitation of equipment and facility.
- Develop and document cleaning procedures such as SSOP’s, cleaning logs, etc.
- Develop clear and well-defined cleaning procedures for all equipment and facility areas.
- Protect products during sanitation.
- Team Leadership and Training:
- Train employees in sanitation procedures and safe equipment operation.
- Plan, assign, and direct work for sanitation workers.
- Supervise, motivate, and train sanitation production workers.
- Coordinate all sanitation activities and some production items for the plant.
- Work independently and within a team on special, non-recurring, and ongoing projects.
- Performance Management:
- Appraise performance of sanitation workers.
- Reward and discipline employees as necessary.
- Address complaints and resolve problems.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with all safety rules, standards, and company GMPs.
- Ensure food safety and quality control specifications are met.
- Develop, maintain, and comply with the Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Coordinate with R&D and Quality Assurance on sanitation issues concerning production, new products, and special runs.
- Coordinate with Maintenance on machinery, pump, mill, and equipment issues.
- Ensure that quality, productivity, and food safety standards are met.
- Process Improvement:
- Work closely with management and chemical suppliers on chemical and process changes to improve sanitation results and reduce costs.
- Miscellaneous:
- Coordinate sanitation and production activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; HACCP certification preferred.
- Experience: 3 plus years of sanitation experience in the food industry.
- Computer Skills: Efficiently utilize a personal computer outfitted with Microsoft Office software including Word Excel and Outlook
- Special Skills: Must be able to work a flexible schedule; knowledge in sanitation and chemicals required. Skilled in analytical critical inductive and deductive logic and reasoning. Skilled in adaptable flexible yet effective time and scheduling management Occasionally required to conduct meeting or lead groups discussions. Able to read and interpret documents such as MSDS Safety rules and procedure manuals. Able to write reports. Able to compute rate ratio and percentage when preparing cleaning chemicals.
- Supervisory: This position is responsible for supervising a large group of personnel in a single department with multiple shifts who perform similar and / or interrelated tasks and activities.
- Travel: May include 1-3 trips per year.
- Must reside in the United States to be considered.

Internal Qualifications:
- Must not have 4 or more attendance points for locations on an 8 point policy (on application date)
- No written warning in the past six (6) months
- No suspension on record for the last 12 months
