Title: Receptionist (Merriam Park Community Center)
Status: Regular, Part Time (Up to 20 Hours per week)
Classification: Non-Exempt
Reporting Relationship: Director of Facilities Operations
Program/Department: Management
Salary Range: $16.00 - $16.50/hour
Position Description:
A Receptionist supports Keystone Community Services by performing front desk duties and other positional essential functions as described below.
This position will primarily work out of the Merriam Park Community Center but may also work at other Keystone locations as needed.
Essential Functions:
95% Front Desk Receptionist Duties
- Greet all clients, visitors and the general public with respect and sensitivity
- Assist clients, visitors and the general public with information and directions about Keystone, St. Paul Parks and Rec programs, and other community activities.
- Monitor the main lobby and public areas for safety and security.
- Receive, direct and relay telephone and fax messages.
- Schedule and record program registrations and appointments in person and over the telephone.
- Provide general administrative, clerical, and telephone support to Keystone programs and staff members.
- Data entry and mailing projects as assigned including data upkeep on Spreadsheets.
- Perform community center opening and closing duties.
- Post outgoing mail and receive and sort daily mail/deliveries/couriers
- Provide light “housekeeping” in the lobby and common areas

- Performs other duties or special projects as assigned
- Maintains punctual and reliable attendance
Minimum Qualifications
- A welcoming and warm demeanor.
- Comfort with and ability to interact and communicate effectively with people of all racial, ethnic, economic and social backgrounds.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and others.
- Enjoy providing excellent customer service and community relations in a fast- paced atmosphere.
- Solid written and oral communication skills and good phone manner.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work as a team member.
- Ability to keep confidential information
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating and troubleshooting standard office equipment.
- 1 year of prior work experience in a front office role handling receptionist duties
- Experience multi-tasking in a busy environment.
Physical/Mental Requirements
- The office/reception area may be noisy and busy making it difficult to concentrate.
- May have long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
- May have to manage a number of requests and situations at one time.
- May have to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time.
- May have to calmly deal with difficult individuals and situations from time to time.
