Job Description:

The Benefits Operations Coordinator is responsible for supporting the daily administration and operations of employee benefit programs. This includes health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement plans, and other related services. The coordinator ensures accurate recordkeeping, compliance with regulatory requirements, and timely communication with vendors and the HRIS system.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration of all employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and COBRA notifications.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries, providing clear and accurate information on plan options, eligibility, coverage, and claims.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HRIS and benefits platforms, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Coordinate benefits onboarding and offboarding activities, including new hire orientations and exit interviews related to benefits.
  • Work with benefit vendors and carriers to resolve employee issues and ensure service delivery standards are met.
  • Support benefits open enrollment activities, including scheduling sessions, preparing materials, and processing elections.
  • Assist in auditing benefits data and invoices to ensure proper billing and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and COBRA.
  • Contribute to process improvements and documentation of benefit workflows and standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare reports and metrics related to benefits utilization, costs, and trends as requested.
  • Support and monitor benefits-related system integration events.
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in benefits administration or HR operations.
  • Knowledge of employee benefits programs and relevant regulations (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA).
  • Experience with Workday preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain data accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Additional Information:

Benefits are available to eligible employees on the first of the month after 30 days of employment and include:
