OVERVIEW ::

The Shipping Manager’s primary objective is to ensure shipping and distribution are always timely, accurate, and secure. In this role, the Shipping Manager trains staff in shipping and receiving procedures, safety protocols, and other related topics. They are responsible for all facets of the day-to-day operations of production associates to achieve required production and quality standards in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS ::
  • Manage and coordinate activities of employees engaged in preparing, verifying and maintaining records on all shipments and inventory control.
  • Operate within USDA/HACCP guidelines.
  • Promote a safe environment following state, federal and company safety standards.
  • Produce products that meet or exceed the customers' (internal and external) requirements and provide excellent customer service.
  • Provide a positive people-oriented work environment, designed to build morale.
  • Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Oversee all individuals and operations of the department.
  • Use software to track, check, prioritize and route orders.
  • Maintains the pallets, CO2, and combos in the department.
  • Communicate and work alongside sales and production to ensure the process is correct to complete orders.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to optimize the flow of orders from preparation to shipment.
  • Individual will troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise in the department.
  • Support all employees in the department.
  • Individual will be on call for weekend issues and shipping.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS ::
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, business administration, or related experience in similar field is a plus.
  • Must have supervision experience in shipping and inventory control.
  • Good interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer skills are necessary with experience with Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • SAP experience a plus.
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Experience in directing and evaluating subordinates
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem-solving abilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ::

  • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • May handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.
  • You must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
  • Able to stand for several hours.
  • Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs.), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.
