About the Unit
We have an opportunity for two Sales Representatives to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for sales of plant nutrient products and concepts to customers predominantly in the cereal market. The one position will be based in the Swartland Region and the other in the Southern Cape Coastal Region ,both in the Western Cape , South Africa, and will report to the Commercial Manager .
Responsibilities
- Building of customer relationships through customer service, visits and other marketing opportunities
- Marketing , promotion and sales of Yara plant nutrition products and services.
- Marketing , promotion and sales of Yara Digital Tools and services.
- Driving , building and implementing Yara’s Precision Farming platform/database amongst customers to help optimizing their businesses and achieving Yara’s objectives of growing its digital footprint.
- Focus on sustainable farming and regenerative agricultural principles.
- Manage / Achieve marketing and sales objectives /targets for his area.
- Taking soil and leaf samples .
- Farm visits , Crop Inspections & plant nutritional advice.
- Sales forecasts.
- Logistical and administrative arrangements for placement and delivery of orders.
- Communication & collaboration within the organization to achieve sales and service excellence.
Profile
- Suitable tertiary qualification in Agriculture, or
- Suitable tertiary qualification in Marketing, coupled with an agricultural background
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role/environment
- BASOS Certificate/Qualification recommended
- Good interpersonal , communication and selling skills
- Ability to plan and work independently as well as in a team
- Must be confident and self-driven to achieve target and goals
- Fully bilingual (verbal and written) in Afrikaans and English.
- Good computer literacy with and active interest in and /or knowledge of precision farming and digital tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point)
- An active interest in and knowledge of the commercial agricultural sector.
- A working knowledge of farming practises and trends in the winter grain farming sector.
- Must be willing to relocate to the area where the candidate’s service is required.
