%3Cp%3EBurns %26amp; McDonnell%26rsquo;s regional office in Houston is looking for a Staff Environmental Scientist to complete field work, permit applications and task management for a variety of market sectors, including transmission, oil and gas, renewable, and transportation.%26nbsp;%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/p%3E%0A%3Cp%3EThe Staff Environmental Scientist will work with the office%26rsquo;s Natural %26amp; Cultural Resources group within our Environmental Services Global Practice to perform the following duties:%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/p%3E%0A%3Cul style=%22margin-top: 0in;%22 type=%22disc%22%3E%0A%3Cli%3EPerform wetland delineations with strict adherence to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers protocol and procedures%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EComplete field investigations that may include habitat evaluations for threatened and endangered species and/or evaluation of other potentially sensitive resources%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3ECompose technical reports presenting results from field investigations and develop appropriate applications/consultations necessary for various regulatory approvals.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EConduct permit compliance tasks, federal/state/local permit applications, agency consultations%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EAssist project manager with field-oriented tasks, project permit tracking, agency consultations%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EOffice related tasks would include report writing, QA/QC review, assistance with compliance related tasks%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EFrequent overnight travel to field locations may be required (50-70%)%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli class=%22MsoNormal%22 style=%22mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in;%22%3EAll other duties as assigned.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3C/ul%3E
%3Cul type=%22disc%22%3E%0A%3Cli%3EBachelor%26rsquo;s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Botany, Soil Science or a related accredited program is required%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3E4 years of relevant professional experience is required. Environmental consulting experience is preferred.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EExperience in completing field investigations, wetland assessments, associated permitting, analyzing GIS data; preparing environmental assessments and permitting documents, technical writing%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EDemonstrated knowledge of wetlands and aquatic resources%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EDemonstrated knowledge of Section 404, 401 and Section 10 permitting required%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EKnowledge of state and local permitting processes in the Midwest%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EKnowledge of the agencies that govern waters of the U.S.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EKnowledge of erosion and sediment control permitting and site restoration practices%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EDemonstrated proficiency operating GPS equipment%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EWorking knowledge of GIS support software and analysis%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EAbility to clearly communicate both verbal and written technical information%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EProficient in computer software (Microsoft Office-Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project)%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EAbility to work 50% or more in the field%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3C/ul%3E%0A%3Cp%3E%26nbsp;%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/p%3E%0A%3Cp class=%22MsoNormal%22%3E%3C!--StartFragment --%3E%3Cspan class=%22cf0%22%3EEEO/Disabled/Veterans %3C/span%3E%3C!--EndFragment --%3E%3C/p%3E
