We are currently seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner for our Minot campusThis is a full-time exempt Monday-Friday position.  

 

Starting wage:  $100,000 - $140,000

 

POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision of a medical doctor, the Nurse Practitioner will perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, assessments, diagnosis, medication management, evaluation and on-going treatment of clients with mental disorders at Dakota Family Services.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Follow administrative directives, policies, and procedures.
  • Support other members of the team in carrying out organizational goals and activities.
  • Support sustainable excellence and continual improvement of the organization.
  • Display respect for all voices, all cultures, and all perspectives.
  • Conducts initial client assessment to include obtaining psychiatric and medical history, performing psychiatric assessment and overall health assessment for any presenting problem 
  • Orders necessary laboratory studies, monitors and follows-up on abnormal results 
  • Provides prescriptions for psychiatric medications under the advice and direction of a medical doctor 
  • Assesses and evaluates responses to medications and monitors for potential side effects or adverse reactions
  • Consults with other members of the treatment team on clients’ treatment plans 
  • Documents using Subjective information, Objective information, Assessment Plan/Symptom Observation Assessment Plan (SOAP) Format, a complete assessment and plan including all medication changes on each client 
  • Obtains medication consents when appropriate 
  • Participates in staff in-service and case presentation meetings 
  • Consults with medical doctor regularly on treatment plans for clients 
  • May provide direct supervision to Nursing staff 
  • Provide the best customer care possible. 
  • Identify and build upon the strengths of clients, coworkers, and the communities we serve.

  • Available per phone after hours to answer questions regarding client care.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful applicant must:

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a masters in Nursing. 
  • Current Nurse Practitioner license from the Board of Registered Nursing in the state of North Dakota. 
  • At least one year of experience working with the adolescent psychiatric population preferred. 
  • Requires strong clinical skills and communication skills, both verbal and written.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand or walk and occasionally required to sit, climb, stoop, kneel, or crouch. 
  • The employee may be required to sit, climb or balance, kneel, crouch, or stoop. Must be able to lift and move 20 pounds.
