Full-time, first shift

Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm


Purpose:

The Residential Services Coordinator will lead, schedule and supervise on-site Client Care Technicians in the Residential service areas (Recovery and Crisis Shelter) and coordinate on-site programming designed to empower residents using a Trauma-Informed approach.

Essential Duties:

Recruitment & Employee Training 

  • Participate in the recruitment process for Residential staff. 
  • Provide on the job training, support, and evaluation to all Residential staff as assigned.

Leadership & Supervision

  • Provide leadership to staff and support to residents to support physical and emotional safety while in YWCA programs within the approach of Trauma-Informed Care.  
  • Implement and facilitate a schedule of staff meetings.
  • Oversee job performance for supervisees. Follow up as needed with employees regarding the completion of duties.
  • Oversee program volunteers assigned.
  • Work closely with other staff as needed regarding scheduling of staff, groups, volunteers, and supply needs.
  • Participate in creating a team atmosphere among Residential staff, and collaborate closely with other program departments.
  • Manage shelter activities ensuring adequate coverage and working procedures are in place at all times.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Residential Services and human resources on all employment issues.
  • This position may be required to assist in covering open shifts within the program, as needed. This may include nights and weekends, outside of normal working hours. 
  • Part of On-Call rotation.

Program Support 

  • Provide a structured schedule for Residential Programming. This will include the following key areas:
    • Environmental Empowerment Program for Clients.
    • Volunteerism and Participation for Clients in other aspects of the program, such as food, events, programming.
    • Organizing a regular schedule to include groups, activities, and daily routines, such as bedtime stories, bath time, bedtime for children, etc.
    • Be responsible for communicating the structure with all colleagues who work in the Crisis Shelter, and assisting with its implementation.
  • Facilitate education on healthy/unhealthy relationships, support groups, life skills, employment, and provide tools for self-sufficiency and stability.
    • Coordinate with Advocates and volunteers to provide a full schedule of groups. 
    • Either fill in or find others to fill in when the planned group leader is unable to attend.
    • Ensure maintenance of appropriate records of the program for outcomes.
    • Transport clients in company vehicles, as needed.
  • Provide support in the Crisis Shelter program to maintain appropriate staffing levels. This may include the performance of Direct Care job duties.
  • Oversight and coordination of transportation needs for the residents in the crisis shelter program
  • Ability to intervene if in the event that client(s) exhibit behavior changes, challenging behavior, etc. Identify crises and report sentinel events directly to the Program Director.
  • Assist in building a culture of active support for staff and clients.
  • Ensure clear, positive, and proactive communication and cooperation with all other areas of residential services for YWCA, including but not limited to, the Advocates, all parts of the Hope & Harriet Addiction Services program, the Nutrition Coordinator, Facilities, HR, Operations, and the Advocate Coordinators.
  • Attendance at staff meetings as required. 
  • Agreement to attend continuing education workshops/seminars, CPR and First Aid Training, as required
  • Other duties as assigned to meet the organization's goals.

Requirements

 

Education:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field or equivalent experience (3-6 years).
  • Continuing Education Classes within related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of Domestic Violence and Addiction Recovery.
  • CPR and First Aid Certifications.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Knowledge of domestic violence issues and patterns and their effects on men, women, and children.
  • Knowledge of addiction and recovery related issues.
  • Proven ability to effectively and respectfully interact with diverse populations, including clients, co-workers, and agency.
  • Experience in crisis intervention, networking, team building and public speaking.   
  • Strong customer service skills with ability to communicate in a professional manner with a wide range of people. Unequivocal commitment to pluralism.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion when handling potentially confidential or sensitive manners.
  • Strong time management skills; ability to take initiative to solve problems and work with minimum supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Google Office.
  • 1-3 years of experience with general office equipment (copiers, printers).
  • Accurate, organized, and detail-oriented, with ability to work under pressure and shift priorities in response to changing needs.
  • Ability to keep accurate records and files.
  • Must comply with the organization's policy of automobile insurance: must have a valid driver’s license and personal automobile insurance coverage. 
  • Flexibility to change work hours as needed.

Physical/Mental Essential Requirements:

  • Walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, moderate lifting and carrying (up to thirty (30) pounds).  
  • Full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. 
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.  
  • Ability to sit at a computer work station for extended periods of time.  
  • Occasionally needs to stand for long periods of time.  
  • Ability to focus on detail and accuracy of work product.  
  • Work is performed primarily in a non-smoking office environment, though travel may expose employees to inclement weather conditions. 
  • Occasional high stress may be experienced in dealing with clients, staff and volunteers.
