Position Overview
This leadership role is pivotal in guiding the strategic direction and execution of data delivery and business intelligence systems, as well as overseeing financial applications and reporting tools. The individual will lead cross-functional teams in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of systems that support accurate and insightful financial reporting. Responsibilities include driving system configuration, customization, and support, with a focus on database integrity and workflow automation. As a senior member of the Financial Services team, this role champions innovation, fosters collaboration, and ensures alignment with organizational goals, playing a key role in shaping data-driven decision-making across the enterprise.

Duties and Responsibilities
Primary

  • Leadership & Mentorship
    • Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to ITFS team members, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert on V&E’s financial technologies and systems, offering insights and best practices.
    • Support team members with project execution and issue resolution, promoting a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
    • Partner with the Director of Financial Systems, CFO, and other firm leaders on high-impact initiatives and special projects.
  • Senior Analyst
    • Lead complex, cross-functional projects involving significant data transformation and system enhancements.
    • Conduct impact assessments for proposed system changes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and minimal disruption.
    • Translate business needs into technical solutions through detailed analysis and planning.
  • Financial Systems & Application Management
    • Design, develop, and maintain financial reporting applications, including custom reports, queries, and dashboards.
    • Oversee the development and integration of databases and data systems to support Financial Services operations.
    • Manage system upgrades, enhancements, and maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
    • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business users to ensure clear communication and successful solution delivery.
    • Lead initiatives to improve financial processes such as billing, eBilling, collections, cash applications, rate reviews, and special fee arrangements.
    • Support and enhance system integrations with third-party tools and platforms.
    • Develop comprehensive documentation for application configurations, setup procedures, and technical processes to ensure usability and maintainability of financial systems.
    • Monitor system performance and resolve access related to ensure secure and uninterrupted operations.
    • Deliver end-user support across various business applications.
  • Testing & Technical Support
    • Lead the development and execution of testing plans for new technologies, system upgrades, and process automation.
    • Provide technical expertise on workflows, interface configurations, field and screen modifications, and third-party integrations.
    • Ensure system stability and performance through proactive monitoring and issue resolution.
    • Perform post-maintenance system testing to validate functionality and ensure operational stability
  • Business Intelligence and Reporting
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to define reporting and analytical requirements, translating them into actionable insights.
    • Develop and maintain multi-dimensional models and data cubes to support complex data analysis.
    • Promote and enable self-service reporting capabilities across the organization.
    • Ensure adherence to best practices and technical standards in the development of reports and business intelligence solutions.

Working Conditions

  • Job is performed remotely and occasionally within a typical office environment. The job is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others.
  • Long hours are required routinely. Expected to be available evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

     

Minimum Qualification
Education:  Bachelor’s degree in computer science/technology field and/or advanced technical training preferred.
Experience:  Ten plus years’ experience including significant legal industry experience.
Special Knowledge:  Solid understanding of data warehousing, relational databases, and dimensional modeling. Thorough knowledge of web-application programming utilizing a Microsoft development stack, as well as, other programming knowledge and other functional skills.
Technical Skills:  Knowledge of various Business Intelligence reporting and analytical tools. Experience with PowerBI, SSMS, SSRS, ETL tools (Alteryx or SSIS), SAP Business Objects universes, and SAP Crystal Reports. Proficient with various software applications including MS-Access, MS-Excel, MS-Word. Knowledge of programming languages including: Visual C#, Visual Basic, Java/Java Script, Structured Query Language (SQL), and Multi-dimensional Expressions (MDX). Knowledge of ChromeRiver, ARCS, Aderant Design Studio, Aderant Classic and Framework applications is a distinct plus.
