 Job Summary:


The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing daily branch workflow and ensuring compliance with all banking policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Manages new accounts and supports lending services, provides knowledgeable customer assistance, and trains frontline staff to deliver exceptional service. Collaborate with the Branch Manager on employee development, community relationship building, and branch growth, while also handling complex customer inquiries and maintaining operational and security standards.  


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directly responsible for oversight of office workflow in addition to being knowledgeable in all aspects of banking, including but not limited to transactions, policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and retention of new accounts.
  • Collaborate with the Branch Manager to develop skills and strategies for making community contacts for the purpose of building and retaining new retail and business relationships. Creates a book of clients through building outside community relationships as well as deepening existing customer relationships.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Seneca Savings’ Core Values and consistently leads by example to embody these principles.
  • Provides customers with knowledgeable assistance relating to the Bank’s products and services, as well as training branch employees to provide the same level of customer service.
  • Primarily responsible for new accounts for the branch.
  • Research, review, and solve more complex questions for customers, as provided by the branch staff.
  • Provides oversight for ensuring that various daily logs and reports are completed according to policy in addition to ensuring all Regulatory requirements are met. 
  • Reviews Change of Address authorizations for the Bank.
  • Required to be knowledgeable of lending responsibilities and work with customers on various loans.
  • Prepares and may conduct employee evaluations in collaboration with the Branch Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Branch Manager to address and resolve routine staff issues.
  • Must be knowledgeable in Bank Security Program, as well as be the main contact on the Eastern Security call list for vault alarm responses. 
  • Completes additional tasks as requested by the supervisor/manager, in alignment with the bank's operations and functions.

Supervisory Responsibilities:


The Assistant Branch Manager has no direct supervisory responsibilities but will act as the supervisor in the absence of the Branch Manager.

  

Required Experience and Education:

  • 2-3 years of management experience in banking or a retail environment preferred.
  • 2-year college degree preferred
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills
  • Comfort using technology and software.
  • A willingness to enthusiastically manage constantly changing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills. 
  • Ability to promote a positive work environment.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to work with customers, bank personnel, vendors, and guests on a regular and consistent basis. 

Equipment, Machines and Software Used:

  • Basic Equipment and Machinery: Basic personal computer skills that include the ability to send/receive e-mail messages, post information to a database or spreadsheet, and perform basic word processing, and/or data entry. Ability to create spreadsheets, graphics, and reports using standard software applications.
  • Ability to operate a computer, printer, scanner, copier, facsimile machine, telephone, postage meter and calculator.
  • Computer Software: Ability to utilize Windows Operating system, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and banking systems with the willingness to learn new software, as necessary.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this position, the Assistant Branch Manager is regularly required to, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, sit, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, use fingers, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions.
  • The physical requirements of this position call for the ability to lift, move, push, pull, or otherwise exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. 
  • Close mental and visual attention required to perform work dealing primarily with preparing and analyzing data and figures, performing accounting duties, using a computer terminal, and/or extensive reading.

Environmental Conditions:


There is no exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Work is performed in a typical office work environment.

The base pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00 per hour. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
