OVERVIEW
Mercy Street exists to cultivate mutually transforming relationships with inner-city youth through Christian mentorship. We accomplish our mission through three main areas: Sports, Mentoring & Leadership. Mercy Street is seeking a highly organized and detail oriented individual to support Mercy Street’s daily activities across multiple locations by managing office operations, administrative tasks, and operational systems to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Key responsibilities include, ordering supplies, managing vendors, providing IT and accounting support, assist in maintaining facilities, and supporting staff and volunteers to help Mercy Street achieve its mission and vision.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Experience with a non-profit in Operations or administrative role a plus
- Directly supporting the Executive Vice President & COO with administrative tasks including but not limited to expenses, calendar management, vendor management & scheduling, compliance adherence, etc.
- Technical skills – proficiency in relevant software, Microsoft office suite, Google workplace, inventory management, work order management system, vendor management tools, building management
- Soft skills – strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent communication
KEY RESULT AREAS
MINISTER OF THE GOSPEL
The Operations Coordinator is first and foremost considered to be a Minister of the Gospel. This position furthers Mercy Street’s religious mission by:
- Following Jesus Christ and setting an example for others through their lifestyle.
- Exhibiting a passion for sharing the Gospel with others.
- Being willing and able to explain the message of the Gospel to kids and families of Mercy Street.
- Being willing and able to counsel, shepherd, and disciple kids and families of Mercy Street in a manner consistent with the Bible.
- Being willing and able to explain Mercy Street’s beliefs and Statement of Faith in person or over the phone to kids and families of Mercy Street.
- Being ready, willing, and able to lead or contribute to distinctly Christian activities (including, but not limited to, worship or staff chapel).
OFFICE MANAGMENT
- Manage daily office functions, including ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe, pleasant office environment.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
- Provide clerical and administrative support to operations staff, managing calendars, preparing documents, and handling phone calls and emails.
VENDORS & PROCUREMENT
- Serve as the primary contact for procurement, managing vendors, handling invoices, and coordinating servicing and repairs for equipment as needed.
- Serve as the primary contact for facility rentals.
SYSTEMS & TECHNOLOGY
- Administer and maintain office technology, cloud-based software, and computer hardware, sometimes providing basic IT support.
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
- Monitor and evaluate operational processes, identifying areas for improvement, cost reduction or efficiencies, and enhanced performance.
- Work with other staff, vendors, and departments to ensure smooth financial operations
STAFF & VOLUNTEER SUPPORT
- Provide administrative support to staff and assist in onboarding and training new employees and volunteers
- Directly support the Executive Vice President & COO with administrative support

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
- Serve on appropriate committees; attend staff meetings, and other staff functions.
- Strengthen teamwork, collaboration, alignment, morale, transparency, credibility, and trust throughout the ministry.
- Fulfill necessary tasks, projects or roles as assigned.
HOURS, COMMITMENT, AND COMPENSATION
- This is an on-site position in Dallas, Texas
- Limited travel between office locations may be required
- Compensation is commensurate with skills, education and experience
