I.    SCOPE OF POSITION

II.    This position will be responsible for Make Mechanical and electrical repairs to machines and facility as needed. Included but not limited to, automatic transfer switches, relay controls, programmable control systems for switchgear, medium voltage transformers and motor control centers

VI.    Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection required. This role operates in a manufacturing environment with safety/health hazard potential. Employee is exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area during extremely hot summer months.

Functional Responsibilities    %

·Maintain and repair equipment and facilities.

·Perform routine maintenance on buildings, equipment, and tools.

·Ensure that all building systems are maintained and repaired.

·Perform repairs and installations as assigned.

·Maintain safety standards through training, oversight, and follow-up of procedures.

·Assist with troubleshooting electrical problems.

·Ensure that all safety standards are met. Always maintain a safe work environment by complying with OSHA regulations, regulations from state or local government, and company policies and procedures.

    Must have strong knowledge of motor started/control circuits and motor operation.

    Must be able to use a multimeter.

    Must be able to work at different heights.

    Must understand Ohm’s law and apply it. 

    Must be able to read electrical systematics including single line power instrumentation and relay logic in ladder format.

    Must be able to program, timers, heat controllers and VFD’s.

    Must be able to build small and large control panels.

    Must be able to identify all the different electrical parts.

    Must be able to install conduits, cable wire and pull wire and know which to use.

    How to size wire for correct amperage and voltage.

    Fuses, breakers, solid state relays, transformers, power supplies, 2nd overload drives, etc.

    Must be able to adhere to company policy, safety rules and regulations, and wear PPE.

    Must understand operation of instrumentation including thermocouples, load cells, proximity switches, pressure transmitters and other sensors.

    Must have industrial experience with 2 to 5 years preferred.

    Knowledge of three-phase 480 VAC and troubleshooting skills.

    Ability to read electrical schematics and to troubleshoot equipment problems using diagrams and manuals blueprints, schematics, etc... Must be able to follow written instructions including safety procedures and rules. Must have good organizational skills with ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment.

    Must be able to work independently with limited supervision. Must be able to work overtime as needed.

    Recommended AC and DC drive troubleshooting and programming knowledge.

    Ability to perform general math accurately and consistently.

    Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, and Outlook email and calendar capabilities.

    Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.

    Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.

    Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.

    Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.

    Self-confident, self-motivated polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

    ·Must have own tools or be able to learn how to use them. (Light duty welding, fabrication, soldering, etc.)

    ·Must be self-motivated with strong attention to detail.

VIII.    KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

    Regular contact with other supervisors, Maintenance Supervisor and Production Manager

    Regular contact with production personnel

    Frequent contact with suppliers, contractors and equipment brokers or manufacturers regarding new equipment, quotes, bids and specifications

    Regular contact with service contractors to schedule work and review contractor proposals

XII.    QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

    Technical Diploma plus 3-5 years’ experience; OR High School Diploma or GED with 7-10 years’ experience

Skills

    Good communication skills both verbal and written

    Good interpersonal skills

    Good decision-making ability

    Ability to troubleshoot printing issues and assist press crews in resolving them

    Working knowledge of equipment used to diagnose maintenance issues



12 hour shift 2/2/3 schedule. 8am-8pm or 8pm-8am
