Description

Connect for Health has a great opportunity for a Community Partnership and Outreach Coordinator.

Connect for Health Colorado is a public, non-profit entity established by the Colorado General Assembly in 2011 to create a health insurance Marketplace. Since 2013, we’ve been helping individuals, families, and small employers compare plans, apply for financial help, and buy health insurance. As Colorado’s official health insurance marketplace, we are the only place to apply for financial help to lower the monthly cost of premiums. Customers can shop online; get help by phone or online chat from Customer Service Center representatives; and access expert help from a statewide network of certified Brokers and community-based Assisters. Our mission is to increase access, affordability, and choice for individuals and small employers purchasing health insurance in Colorado. For more information: ConnectforHealthCO.com

Position Summary:

Connect for Health Colorado seeks a highly motivated, people-oriented Community Partnership and Outreach Coordinator to help build awareness and trust among the communities we serve. This is a public-facing role that will help increase access, affordability, and choice for individuals and small employers purchasing health insurance in Colorado by pairing community members with expert Brokers and Assisters within the Connect for Health Colorado network. This role is ideal for someone who excels at public speaking, values equity and integrity, and thrives in diverse community settings. Applicants do not need to be experts in health insurance to excel in this role.

As an Outreach Coordinator, you will help educate the public on how to access affordable health insurance, represent Connect for Health Colorado at community events, and build trusted relationships with local organizations. You will translate complex health insurance information into clear, accessible language, particularly for historically underserved and multilingual communities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Represent Connect for Health Colorado at community meetings, tabling events, enrollment fairs, and public speaking engagements.
  • Identify and review sponsorship opportunities for community events.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Brokers and Assisters across the state who also represent Connect for Health Colorado at C4 outreach events.
  • Deliver educational presentations and materials appropriate to a variety of audiences, including working families, immigrant and refugee populations, and small businesses.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with community-based organizations, faith groups, local governments, and advocacy partners.
  • Translate complex health insurance topics into clear, accessible, and culturally relevant messaging.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, especially communications, marketing, and policy, to share community insights and needs.
  • Track outreach data such as activity, impact, and outcomes, and evaluation in CRM systems (e.g. Zendesk).
  • Manage and expand existing partnerships, collaborating closely with and providing outreach support to the Assistance Network and Broker teams.
  • Support open enrollment events and statewide campaigns.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Colorado resident.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in outreach, communications, community engagement, or education—volunteer or internship experience counts!
  • Spanish language fluency strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with the health care or health insurance landscape is a plus, but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree OR relevant experience in communications, public health, social work, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence in public speaking and one-on-one conversations.
  • Passion for health equity and experience working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex topics in accessible, culturally appropriate ways.
  • Ability to travel within the Denver metro area and attend in-person events in the evenings or weekends as needed.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management and follow-through.
  • Tech savvy — comfortable using Microsoft Office, virtual meeting platforms, and CRM tools (e.g., Zendesk).
  • Ability to assume responsibility and maintain confidentiality consistent with the values and integrity of the Marketplace.

Work Environment:

  • Currently working remotely.
  • The Connect for Health Colorado office is in the North Tech Center area of Denver, near the intersection of I-25 and I-225.
  • Work schedule may include some non-traditional hours, weekends, and evening events.
  • Core office hours are typically 8 am-5 pm with some flexibility.

Total Compensation:
