Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist the Manager with the training, scheduling, orientation and payroll of Resort Hosts, Mountain Host, Guest Service Shop Attendants and Volunteer Mountain Hosts.

  • Provide daily supervision, delegation, and motivation of all staff and volunteers. Ensure staff is following all department procedures, while providing a high level of service and work ethic.

  • Monitor daily performance and appearance of team. Address any disciplinary issues immediately.

  • Create & distribute daily schedules.

  • Shoveling snow, busting ice, moving ski racks, hauling water, and other physical tasks.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all ski school products, pass office products, resort offerings, and events.

  • Coordinate and manage daily on-mountain tour program.

  • Conduct on-going training to assist all staff in improving their guest service skills, including conducting mid-season and end-season reviews. Recognize and reward employees for exceptional job performance.

  • Coordinate with other departments (ski patrol, lifts, etc) to ensure accurate and efficient mountain operations.

  • Address any issues from guests or other departments in a timely and professional manner.

  • Facilitate payroll functions for staff by maintaining daily time records in Kronos.

  • Monitor lift maze design, set-up and maintenance mountain wide.

  • Provide a high level of guest service and guest interaction.

  • Perform Resort Host, Mountain Host, and Guest Service Shop duties when necessary.

  • Adheres to TSG Ski & Golf policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of and adheres to Skier Responsibility Code and Colorado Skier Safety Act.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:        

Manage 2 supervisors, 50 paid staff, and 15 volunteers. Assist the Manager with overseeing the Guest Services Store operations. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:                   

At least 3 years’ experience with ski resort operations or managerial experience in a related field

Language Skills:                   

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:                   

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:                   

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:                   

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Outlook, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office, and Kronos software.

Other Qualifications:

  • Advanced to Expert skiing ability, must be able to ski all terrain.

  • Ability to stand for considerable amounts of time in ski or snowboard boots.

  • Knowledge of Telluride Ski & Golf and the Telluride region.

  • Able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as job requires.

  • Able to function effectively at elevations of 10,000 feet or higher.

  • Able to function effectively in inclement weather conditions.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

The pay rate range for this position is $26.00-$27.00/hr DOE
