Summary:

The Procurement Manager – Edible Products is responsible for sourcing, negotiating and purchasing new and existing edible confections and other food products for food décor and design. This role will ensure product quality, safety, and cost effectiveness while managing supplier relationships and inventory levels.  This position will also coordinate DecoPac finished goods planning and support Lucks Manufacturing with raw material sourcing, procurement, and process alignment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and inventory systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions. Ensures the availability of products and acceptable inventory levels.
  • Implement planning parameters aligned with the approved inventory strategies for acceptable inventory levels. Audit and analyze inventory levels to identify categories outside of parameters and determine root cause. Approves purchase orders to ensure inventory alignment.
  • Responsible for sourcing and supply new and existing products with approved suppliers as well as coordinating global procurement efforts.
  • Participate on project teams associated with sourcing and supplier requirements to comply with state and federal food ingredients regulations.
  • Collaborate with Demand Planning on special programs or distributions to ensure product availability or create alignment on timing.
  • Support the procurement process for DecoPac and Lucks Manufacturing by requesting and receiving bids/quotes from competing suppliers based on product specifications, terms, and conditions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members in Product Management, Sales, Operations, and Quality to ensure procurement strategy aligns with Company objectives and supports future growth.
  • Lead edible product procurement activities and provide direct management to the Supply Chain Specialist(s).
  • Manage product life cycle, product workflow and process improvements.
  • Identify and procure new products and/or materials from current vendors. Identify new suppliers as required.
  • Ensure purchased products meet the required quality and safety standards.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with suppliers and assesses supplier performance.
  • Maintains data integrity of inventory management system.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain management, inventory/demand planning of edible (food) product.
  • 3+ years of direct supervisory or management experience
  • CPM or APICS Certification preferred.
  • Demand planning and inventory planning experience required.
  • Experience working in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word) required. Inventory management system experience required. DSX experience preferred.

Physical & Mental Demands:

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear/listen. Frequent use of hands to finger, handle or touch objects. Occasionally required to stand and move about while standing. Frequent lifting and carrying over 10 pounds while moving about. Occasionally required to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds. Frequent driving of a car may be required. Work in excess of 40 hours per week may be required. Mental requirements include constant reading and interpretation of information and data, making decisions, organization, problem solving and time management. This role interfaces with customers via phone and in person and therefore must demonstrate clear and professional verbal and written communication. Incumbent must be able to listen and anticipate customer needs and meet customer expectations as well as identify and elevate issues rapidly.

Work Environment:

Work is performed in a hybrid work environment. Both onsite (in office) and remote work are acceptable. In office work may be required if business needs require.  (in-office and remote). Onsite (in-office) may be required to meet the needs of the business.
