Are you passionate about building stronger communities and streamlining growth for residents, businesses, and developers? The City of Jersey Village is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Permitting and Community Development Specialist to join our Community Development team!
In this role, you will:
✔️ Support permit applications, contractor registrations, and inspection scheduling
✔️ Assist with Planning & Zoning meetings and community development initiatives
✔️ Help coordinate with developers, businesses, and stakeholders to support local growth
✔️ Track project timelines and ensure an efficient development review process
✔️ Provide top-notch customer service to residents, contractors, and city partners
✔️ Contribute to grant research, planning projects, and resilience efforts
What We're Looking For:
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with accuracy
Collaborative team player with excellent customer service skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with permitting software a plus
High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Public Administration, Planning, or related field preferred
ICC Permit Technician Certification a plus
