Primary Duties/Brief Description of Work:
The Simkins Facilities Operations Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of events and activities at our facility. Reporting to the Barber Park Special Events Facilities Supervisor, this position is responsible for event coordination, facility oversight, and customer service to ensure a seamless experience for all guests and visitors.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Oversee and coordinate events, including open gym sessions, practices, rentals, trainings, tournaments, and special events.
• Provide operational support to the Barber Park Event Center as needed.
• Respond promptly to rental and event inquiries, offering exceptional customer service.
• Prepare the facility for events, including setup, teardown, and cleaning.
• Manage an accurate cash drawer, change fund, and cash journal.
• Assist in scheduling, training, and supervising roster staff based on facility needs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and walk on uneven surfaces.
• Regularly lift and move tables, chairs, and other equipment.
• Capable of heavy lifting up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Experience in recreation, special events, or program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Customer service experience.
- Experience handling cash and processing fees/charges.
- Must have a reliable means of transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with recreation management software.
- Prior experience managing daily activities in a recreation facility.
