Epic Optimization Analyst

Job Description

The Epic Optimization Analyst will be responsible for developing and implementing the long-term best practice Epic strategy within Revenue Cycle. This position will serve as the Revenue Cycle lead for Epic issues identified and new change requests. An integral part of this role is to collaborate with Operations and IS&T leaders on reporting, work queue and workflow design, Discharge Not Final Billed (DNFB)/ Candidate For Billing (CFB) reduction, revenue improvement, late charge reduction, valid claim rate and processing improvement, denial reduction, coding accuracy and overall productivity improvement. 

Work collaboratively with revenue cycle leadership and Epic IT leadership to develop, enhance and maintain best practice processes and Epic functionality.
 

In collaboration with IS&T, Revenue Cycle and Seamless Access Operations, prioritize system enhancement requests utilizing LEAN process management. Maintain and revise prioritization matrix as required.   

Develop and implement, with participation of revenue cycle leadership and IT, project plans and timelines for large performance improvement projects, including system upgrades. Develop a process by which Epic Nova Notes are distributed within Revenue Cycle, prioritized and decisions communicated back to Epic IS&T.  

Drive the Revenue Cycle Workflow Committee meetings, an interdisciplinary committee that reviews, prioritizes and monitors system enhancements, announcements and upgrades.

Develop weekly/monthly status reports of projects and ensures agreed upon timelines are met. 

Provide support to staff to troubleshoot issues and answer questions as they arise.

Expertise and in-depth knowledge of Epic Access and Revenue Cycle Readiness (ARCR) applications functionality. Expertise in industry trends and strategic business drivers facing Revenue Cycle. Possess knowledge of federal, state, and private payer regulations as well as applicable organizational policies and procedures, and compliance standards pertaining to the healthcare and Revenue Cycle operations. Excellent verbal and communication skills. Possess good analytical skills and problem solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and others as required.

Bachelors Degree Information Technology, Health Inf Systems, Health Informatics or related field preferred. Epic implementation experience a plus.  PMP Certification Preferred

Epic certification required. Minimum 3 years EPIC Experience preferably in  healthcare or information systems.  Project Management.
