Responsibilities
- Installation Engineering Management
- Manage the resources from a people management perspective ensure correct objectives are set and monitored .
- Manage team competencys in line with requirements for specific roles
- Ensure on time delivery and maintain CPIs in line with forcasts for all deliverys
- Delivers engineering studies (Bill of Installation Materials / Quantities, Method Statements, Installation Materials Specification Requirements, Installation drawings and configuration)
- Assess monthly the Prime’s progress and generates internal reporting : Action plan progress, report, review, and progress.
- Plans and schedules Installation Engineering activities as per Alstom System requirements.
- Create & reviews and signs off all installation design including Installation Method statement, drawings, and manages site copies of drawing with Red & Yellow / Mark-ups, reviews, and analyses subcontractor daily/weekly installation report. Manage of Punch list and regular follow-ups to close them. Ensures that “as built” drawings are in place before revenue service, including “as installed” configuration.
- Create & Reviews of Installation BOQ and updates as per project requirements. Supervising first article inspections and getting approvals from end user. Generates Traceability to installation requirements.
- Lists Installation tools and organizes regular inspections (calibration dates, notice to use, etc. )
- Leads, manages, organizes, and plans the installation activities with Alstom Installation Team and/or Subcontractors. Takeover of building / workplace report (Civil works reception) –including punch list of remaining works to be done.
- Decides start of work as per 4M Checklist for starting Installation Engineering activities.
- Makes REX of Project installation activities and report on action.
- Proficiency in using BIM/AutoCAD / Microstation to create/modify 2d drawings an asset
- Attention to detail – to understand mechanical and electrical drawings for installation
- Familiarity of both mechanical and electrical basic tools for testing and verification tests of installation.
- Good communication skills and familiarity of working in a unionized environment.
- Proficiency in computer office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Able to work in the office and field under seasonal environmental conditions (fit for duty).
- Able to work under the safety rules outlined by site, company, and industry.
- Occasional international travel may be required.
Education
- Master's Degree in Railway Systems Engineering
- Certified in Autocad and/or other Design tools desirable
Experience
- Experience in railway site management
- Strong knowledge of Railway products and service knowledge on different market segments (Urban, Mainline, Freight and Product)
- 5+ years experience in design, drafting or engineering
- Knowledge of ETCS (European Train Control Solution) solution and proven deployment experience
- Environmental, Health and Safety background desired
- Experience of management by Quality, Cost and Delivery objectives desired
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Quality focused, team player
