Purpose of Role:
As a Provider Specialist, you will act as the liaison for child care providers, providing excellent internal and external customer service. You will also maintain provider files in accordance with the California Department of Education, Early Education and Support Division rules and regulations, and CDA policies and procedures.

Summary of Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive training to enrolling and existing child care providers, thoroughly explain participation requirements and reimbursement services to providers; orient them on CDA’s policies and procedures.
- Conduct orientation and training presentations on participation requirements and promoting quality child care.
- Work closely with the case management and fiscal services units, research a variety of provider statuses and payment inquires; request adjustments and follow up as needed.
- Maintain provider files by requesting updated documentation and tracking necessary information for continual compliance, process changes.
- Responsible for managing a reduced provider caseload. Caseload may vary based on the needs of the office.
- Conduct audits for quality control.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain confidentiality and follow privacy laws, rules and regulations, and procedures in regard to record keeping, using appropriate judgement in answering questions, releasing information considering the consequences of disclosure.
- Handle crisis situations calmly and work with individuals of varying educational, social-economic backgrounds.
- Represent program and Agency at professional organizations and community events or meetings as needed.
- Participate in on- and off-site learning opportunities such as workshops, conferences, staff meetings and trainings.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of other staff members as needed
Position Requirements
- Associate’s degree in early childhood education, Human Services or related field preferred.
- One-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience to include experience working with the childcare community, subsidy program and/or non-profit sector with a focus on reimbursement.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
- Bilingual/Spanish preferred
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday—Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Office/Remote (hybrid) options available after training has been completed.
