We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer Surveyor to join our team. This is a great job for someone with a curious and inquisitive mind, an outstanding interest in how machinery is designed, certified and maintained.
A bit about the job:
Within the role you will be inspecting our customers plant and equipment to ensure compliance, improve safety and increase performance. You will have the freedom to craft you own work schedule to meet your customers’ requirements. You will utilise our digital first initiative in producing your reports on site at the time of the inspection, which will in turn be available to our customers instantly on their online portal.
Additionally, you will:
- Carry out inspection of plant and machinery under the engineering insurance policy inspection requirements and statutory regulations
- Provide risk management by identifying, measuring and reporting on risks to underwriter and policy holder
- Add value to policy holder in the provision of a competent in person service
- Minimise financial risk exposure by using a combination of risk-based inspection and technical
- Competence models
- Provide resource to service the requirements for sprinkler surveyors for the various fire and trademark policies
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Minimum of HND qualification or Marine engineering, incorporated or chartered engineer or equivalent
- Previous technical experience within a relevant engineering field
- An in-depth knowledge of equipment defects, failure modes, damage and deterioration mechanisms is required
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- The ability to work at heights and within enclosed spaces
