View them here: https://www.usajobs.gov/Search/Results?mco=OPM-HRS DutiesDuties: - Serves as TAAG's senior technical advisor for advanced data analytics, data science, and machine learning to strengthen the technical capacity of HRS. - Uses programming languages (e.g., Python, R) to conduct complex analyses and develop machine learning models. - Leads complex analyses, including developing analysis plans, modelling data, conducting analyses, and communicating results, to answer business and research questions of OPM and customer agencies. - Develops and deploys machine learning applications that find patterns in large volumes of data to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Federal human resources processes. - Transforms structured and unstructured data using advanced scientific, mathematical, and statistical principles and theories (e.g., Natural Language Processing) to develop data sets for advanced analytical purposes. - Develops and maintains analytics product project plans to clearly communicate project goals, costs, and constraints. - Establishes analytics team processes and standards to ensure models, applications, and code meet quality standards (e.g., data accuracy, computing costs, transparency, equity, and processing speed). - Reviews the work of other data scientists and analysts to ensure technical standards are met. - Identifies technical requirements for advanced analytics information technology systems to support the development of tools and environments for advanced analytical work. - Represents TAAG at OPM and interagency workgroups and project teams to support government-wide analytics efforts. (BU Code - 7777) QualificationsApplicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic Requirements AND Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Basic Requirements A. Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. OR B. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. For the GS14: You must have one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-13 grade level. Specialized experience for this position must have included all the following: - Using programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and data science tools (e.g., Databricks) to conduct advanced research or analysis projects; - Developing advanced analytics models (e.g., artificial intelligence, machine learning, or statistical) using real-world data to improve the efficiency or effectiveness of a process; AND - Leading analytics projects including developing project plans and reviewing the work of team members to ensure the successful completion of projects Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS 14 level. You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
