We are looking for trustees who have lived experience of using mental health services (especially CAMHS and/or inpatient mental health care) to help us spread festive magic for young people in inpatient mental health care over the festive season.What difference will you make?You will make a difference to the lives of young people in hospital for their mental health over the festive season, ensuring they feel remembered, thought-about and special. Receiving a small gift from someone who doesn't know them but wishes them well (and feeling a part of a special festive activity, such as decorating the ward) can have a bigger impact on young people than we realise. This is sometimes life changing. You will play a big part in making this happen.What are we looking for?No previous experience of being a trustee is required. We would like our new trustees to have lived experience of using mental health services (CAMHS and/or inpatient mental health services) or working in a CAMHS ward/unit. We expect our trustees to have Integrity and honesty. A commitment to Christmas For CAMHS and our objectives. An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship. A willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to their duties as a trustee. The ability to help the charity form and abide by a strategic vision. Good, independent judgement. The ability to think creatively, whilst bringing energy and a sense of fun. Willingness to speak their mind. An ability to work effectively as a member of a teamWhat will you be doing?Christmas for CAMHS is a very small nationwide charity that ensures children and young people in hospital for their mental health over the festive season feel remembered, thought-about and special. We are currently looking for new trustees who have lived experience of using mental health services (especially CAMHS and/or inpatient mental health care) to sit on the board for our charity, bringing some new ideas and energy, as well as helping us to make the magic happen each Christmas. Our trustees have a hands-on role, as well as supporting the governance of the charity. No previous experience of being a trustee is required.
