Remote Full Stack Engineer

In Alien Technology Transfer AI Lab we are on a mission to accelerate the adoption of Artificial Intelligence for next-generation enterprise applications. We are creating an innovative product based on the use of Large Language Models such as GPT-4 , LLAMA and light Transformer model based on the BERT architecture DistilBERT.

We are searching for an experienced Full Stack Engineer to lead the charge.

As a Full Stack Engineer at Alien AI Lab, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining our web applications, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and deliver exceptional user experiences. Your expertise in both backend and frontend technologies will be critical to our success.

Location & Work Modality: the successful candidate will have to work in a hybrid modality (2 days a week) in our Las Palmas de Gran Canaria office for at least a total of 6 months a year (flexible month distribution).

Type of Contract: Permanent.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications using Django and Tornado for backend development;
• Collaborate with the frontend development team to create rich and engaging user interfaces;
• Utilize ProseMirror to enrich content editing capabilities and provide users with a seamless editing experience;
• Optimize web applications for performance, responsiveness, and scalability;
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions;
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience);
• A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in full-stack development, with expertise in backend technologies, including Django and Tornado;
• Familiarity with ProseMirror for frontend development is a valuable asset;
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript;
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively;
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git;
• Knowledge of database systems, both SQL and NoSQL;
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
