Akamai's Information Security team is responsible for safeguarding Akamai, its customers, and the Internet worldwide. Our Research and Review team, consisting of architects and researchers, is part of Product Security. This pillar of Information Security provides security reviews and testing. It also offers advisory services throughout the SDLC to Akamai's engineering teams.

In this role, you will leverage your API and UI automation skills to ensure software quality. As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will build and run automated test frameworks. You'll work closely with developers and product managers to deliver reliable software. Your expertise will help drive our automation efforts in a dynamic, high-tech environment.

As a Software Development Engineer in Test Senior, you will be responsible for-
- Designing and maintaining automated test frameworks for API and UI testing to ensure reliability and scalability.
- Creating and executing automated test scripts for APIs and UIs using appropriate tools and frameworks.
- Collaborating with development teams to understand product architecture and features, developing test strategies for comprehensive coverage.
- Analyzing and troubleshooting test failures, identifying root causes, and working with teams to resolve issues.
- Mentoring and guiding junior SDETs and QA engineers on best practices for test automation.
- Contributing to CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated tests for efficient execution in the build pipeline.
- Working closely with product managers and analysts to define test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and test data.
To be successful in this role you will-
- Have 5+ years of experience as an Software development engineer in test or similar role focused on automation.
- Have extensive expertise in API automation testing using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or similar frameworks.
- Have extensive experience with UI automation testing using frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Have hands-on experience in writing automated test scripts using languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
- Have knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and integrating automated tests into build pipelines.
- Have excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills, with effective communication abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
