Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day engineering operations, ensuring efficiency, high productivity, and meeting SLAs.
- Monitor team capacity, workloads, and allocate resources effectively to ensure smooth functioning.
- Drive continuous improvement of operational processes.
- Lead and manage multiple projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with business goals.
- Collaborate with Product Management, QA, and other cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met.
- Identify potential project blockers early and communicate them with clear mitigation strategies.
- Maintain up-to-date project documentation, status reports, and ensure proper tracking of progress.
- Collaborate with Technical Leads / Architects to ensure that design decisions align with technical requirements and business objectives.
- Oversee and review design processes, ensuring they meet best practices and are scalable and maintainable.
- Take full ownership of the operational success and technical delivery of your team.
- Proactively drive problem-solving and decision-making within the team, escalating issues when necessary.
- Ensure a high level of accountability within the team, fostering a culture of ownership and responsibility.
- Manage and coach a team of engineers, helping them set goals, providing feedback, and encouraging career development.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and offer guidance to help engineers achieve both individual and team goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven experience managing software engineering teams in a SaaS or product-based company.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and program management.
- Experience with system design oversight in collaboration with technical architects.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for team success.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a focus on driving team performance and collaboration.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in modern project management tools.
- Experience working in high-growth SaaS environments.
- Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
