Your mission:

We are growing and hiring a strong technical Engineering Manager for our brilliant Engineering team. As our Engineering Manager you’ll provide the technical direction and lead, manage and grow a group of talented engineers, working closely with Product, Design and various other teams to bring our product to the next level and our vision to life. The role is focused on both managerial and technical leadership to ensure our engineering practices and platform technology excel.

Your responsibilities:

• You provide technical direction and collaborate on the technical vision to ensure we are addressing technical debt and aligning with product priorities. This includes plans that improve performance, or remove complexity to improve a system’s ability to evolve.
• You actively contribute to the platform codebase through pairing/mentoring, resolving technical debt, prototyping new ideas, and evaluating technology choices.
• You maintain a high standard of code review by setting a good example and mentoring others.
• You lead, support, invest in, and develop an incredible team of talented and motivated engineers through 1:1s, goal setting, and constant feedback.
• You nurture a technical culture that supports decision-making and promotes knowledge sharing between individuals.
• You create growth opportunities for team members and address gaps via technical or non-technical skills mentoring and performance management.
• You foster a high-performing and positive work environment based on freedom, responsibility, and a bias for action.
• You proactively support positive culture by confronting negative behavior and fostering continuous improvement.
• You collaborate with team members in Product, Growth and other areas in project planning, dependency management, risk management and continuous process improvement for an optimal flow of value for customers and the business.
  
  

What you'll bring along to be successful:

• You have strong technical expertise and the ability to actively contribute to the codebase.
• You are experienced in managing and delivering impactful projects, especially in a fast growth startup environment.
• You can demonstrate proven experience growing, coaching, mentoring and providing feedback to 4+ engineers including having difficult conversations.
• You have a deep understanding of software architecture and design patterns, with the ability to make decisions that balance short-term delivery with long-term scalability.
• You possess strong leadership, planning and communication skills.
