About the job

About Us

We are a fast-growing team on a mission to reimagine the analytical workflow and make data accessible to all.

The Count canvas combines the power of a data notebook with the collaborative workflow of digital whiteboards. We’re often referred to as the “Figma for data” because of the way Count transforms the way data teams work and communicate with the wider business through greater transparency and trust.

We launched in September 2022 and have seen the canvas concept explode with over 28k canvases created to date and some of Europe’s best startups such as Cleo, BeautyPie, TooGoodToGo and Omnipresent join us as customers.

We’re now looking for passionate, creative people to help us shape the direction of the business and help us grow!

What you'll do

We’re looking for a true data rockstar to join as our first full-time data hire and help us set up our data infrastructure to scale the way we work. We’re a lean team and we’re looking for someone to help us achieve outsized outcomes by automating as much of our processes and workload as possible. You’ll be working closely with our Chief of Staff and collaborating with our sales, growth, customer success and product teams to keep us running as a well oiled machine. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Scaling our sales and marketing stack: You’ll be working closely with our growth team to scale and automate our go-to-market activities by integrating our marketing, sales and finance tools with our CRM and product
  • Owning our data warehouse and company data model: You’ll set up our data stack and data models so everyone in the team can build their reports from a standard set of metrics
  • Drive operational efficiency: We want you to help us automate as much of our daily operations as possible. This could be by automating our workflows or using AI agents to remove human intervention entirely
  • Supporting customers: We’re very customer focused and you may be called in to support our customer success and product teams as they help our customers implement Count

We'd love to hear from you if you:

  • Have at least 4 years of professional experience working as a data engineer
  • Are comfortable working autonomously and taking responsibility for building and scaling data pipelines
  • Love automation, process improvement and find ways to help others work efficiently
  • Have experience working in a high-growth startup and love to work and collaborate with others
  • Have experience coding with Python, SQL and deploying and monitoring services in cloud infrastructure such as AWS/GCP
  • Have experience using dbt and implementing a clean and simple data stack
  • Like the idea of working with our customers from time to time

Our interview process will cover:

  • An initial conversation so you can ask any questions you have about Count and we can learn more about your experience and interests
  • A working session with one of our senior developers and Chief of Staff to dig a bit more into your skills
  • A final meeting with our founders & wider team

The working session and final meeting will take place either virtually or in London, depending on where you're based.

During the first two months, you can expect to undergo a comprehensive training program to familiarize yourself with Count platform, our current operations and our wonderful customers!
