We're looking for an Estimator to join our client's dynamic team!
The Estimator is responsible for identifying, researching, and procuring materials for potential projects, ensuring accurate project pricing and preparation for operations. This role involves gathering project information, performing takeoffs, and collaborating with project teams to deliver comprehensive estimates. The correct person for the job will be able to interpret and analyze blueprints and come up with measurements/quantity of materials based on your calculations. The Estimator will report directly to the VP of Sales.
Contract: Independent Contractor.
Location: 100% remote for candidates based in South Africa.
Hours: EST 7-4 (flexible)

Key Responsibilities
- Project Identification: Utilize plan software and bid invites to identify potential projects and opportunities.
- Documentation: Collect and document essential project details, including bidders (customers and points of contact), bid dates, and contact information.
- CRM Management: Enter sales leads into BuilderTrend CRM, converting quotes and managing the estimation process.
- Estimate Preparation: Prepare detailed estimates, including specifications, measurements, takeoffs, pricing of materials, and special provisions.
- Lead Tracking: Monitor and track leads, conducting follow-ups, analyzing reasons for lost bids, and managing project close-out activities.
- Site Visits: Conduct site visits as necessary to assess project conditions and gather relevant information for accurate estimating.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience in estimating, construction, or a related role is essential.
- Experience: Proven experience interpreting and analyzing blueprints to determine quantity of materials.
- Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in plan software and CRM tools (BuilderTrend preferred).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze project requirements and offer innovative solutions.
