Reporting to our Director of Data Engineering, the Data Engineer will implement the Enterprise Data Warehouse, upholding the best practices pivotal to analytics, data science, and reporting across the organization.

You will:

  • Manage the warehouse data models, efficacy, quality of data pipelines, and ETL processes that bring data into the enterprise data warehouse.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve tools to enable the team members to consume and understand data rapidly.
  • Design and architect scalable data models to build, train, and deploy machine learning models, ETL, and CI/CD with an eye on efficiency.
  • Be hands-on with multiple cloud technologies, tools, and programming languages (Python, PySpark, SQL, AWS, GCP, Databricks, etc.)

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the other data engineers, data scientists/analysts, and our product engineering team to translate requirements into deliverable data warehouse models and data pipelines.
  • Execute the overall data platform roadmap, including data warehouse and pipeline development, to support the business while optimizing performance and minimizing cost.
  • Partner with stakeholders and engineering teams to deliver solutions iteratively and incrementally, leveraging lean and agile principles and fostering an environment of learning and collaboration.
  • Ensure that our applications and operational data remain in sync and all integrations are flowing with no data errors.
  • Lead root cause analysis, prioritize and manage data quality and remediation, and ensure data integrity to all downstream data systems.
  • Be an expert on understanding how data is collected, maintained, and interpreted and be knowledgeable on the official data sources in scope to address use case requirements and business needs.

Must Haves:

  • Deep understanding of Apache Spark (Databricks) and expertise in Data Warehousing approaches in the Databricks Lakehouse.
  • Experienced in Python/PySpark/Spark SQL and followed/evolved established SDLC, coding best practices, version control, etc.
  • Data Warehouse development experience.
  • Hands-on experience with data modeling (e.g., Data Vault, Dimensional, etc).
  • 3+ years of experience as a data/analytics engineer.
  • Excellent communication skills tailored to the target audience.
  • Experience in BI tools (i.e., Looker) Nice-to-Haves:
  • Graduate degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Understanding of Analytics use cases (e.g., customer 360, marketing channel optimization, etc.).
  • Prior experience with AWS Infrastructure (Networking, VPCs etc).
  • Prior experience with tools such as Fivetran, Airflow, Metarouter, and dbt etc
