Mission

The Specialty Sales Rep has accountability and ownership of the business plan and sales performance for a given territory. He/She is accountable for driving advocacy, consensus and guidance for Almirall brands with target influential individuals and groups in order to achieve opportunities highlighted in the territory plan and drive business growth. He/She develops and manages the current and future business with the Dermatologists, interacting with all groups of opinion-leaders and decision-makers to cultivate trust in order to achieve a long-term partnership with the company.


Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for achieving coverage and frequency targets and consistently achieving sales targets in assigned territory.
  • Conduct medical visits to specialists to disseminate product knowledge.
  • Represents Almirall products and services to a defined customer base within a specific geographic area.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with key opinion leaders locally and nationally which can influence prescribing policy and protocol positions.
  • Utilizes an in–depth level of product and therapeutic disease knowledge to promote the appropriate use of Almirall products to healthcare professionals.
  • Prepares business plan for own territory, assigns targets and communicates required actions to achieve goals. May assist others with their individual plans and is productive at developing in-depth market interpretation of sales analysis data. Initiates systems to monitor sales progress and action plans. Manages territory budgets for customer contacts, unrestricted educational grants, speaker events and other miscellaneous external expenditures.
  • Develops and initiates complex strategies that create new business and builds key accounts.
  • Take responsibility for sales of the products and for their evolution.
  • Work in collaboration with outside partner companies to co-promote products or services.
  • May represent company at professional events and promote company products at such events.
  • Works cooperatively with Medical Science Liaisons, Marketing and other internal Almirall team members on various cross-functional projects related to specific accounts or physicians.


Education

Bachelor´s degree or diploma in Health Sciences, Business, Economics or Business Administration.


Specific Knowledge

  • Must be self-motivated, driven and able to work with a high level of autonomy and independence.
  • Proven expertise in interpersonal and relationship building skills is required along with strong influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Must be able to credibly discuss the science of complex products with Key Opinion Leaders.
  • Viewed as an expert in selling and the relevant therapeutic area within the internal team.
  • Is familiar with industry trends and remains current with competitor’s resources and practices.
  • Must be able to identify complex issues, solutions, opportunities, as well as the ability to present and communicate arguments to marketing and sales management.
  • Must have a sound business understanding of external business drivers and internal company operations.
  • Working knowledge of IMS data, CRM data systems and Microsoft windows platforms.
  • Experienced in mentoring and coaching peers within the sale team.
  • Relevant in-depth therapeutic knowledge is essential.
  • Experience in all aspects of planning and implementing a brand strategy and with budget management
  • Knowledge of the Belgian Health Care Compliance-rules.


Experience

  • Minimum of 5 yrs. working experience as a specialty rep
  • Experience in dermatology is a plus.
