The Audience Products & Platforms team builds solutions that enable our partners to transform their business and win with platforms, services, and new monetization models. The team is comprised of dedicated global working groups to support Audience Platforms and Advertising Products. Our focus is to build solutions that resonate with- and engage audiences, promoting capabilities that personalize content experiences for both the researcher and reader personas, all while driving increased opportunities and support from corporate revenues for Wiley and its partners. We are currently seeking a curious and driven Product Manager to join our team and contribute to a cohesive product strategy and roadmap that helps the Audience Solutions team deliver on the strategic goals for commercial sales. The perfect candidate will have a broad understanding of the global advertising ecosystem to help shape the future success of audience monetization for our organization. Ability to analyze the performance of our advertising capabilities and collaborate with connected teams to identify/deliver technology, process, and workflow improvements is mandatory. Previous experience with ad servers, CDPs, DMPs, and CRMs is necessary. Previous experience with publishing platforms and programmatic advertising is a plus.


How you will make an impact:

  • Manage and oversee the integration, implementation, management, and optimization of the product portfolio that supports the Wiley Partner Solutions Ad Tech Stack end to end – from ad booking, delivery, to performance reporting.
  • Be required to understand the needs of publishers, partners, and corporates sales and to work closely with the Business Development team and our technology teams (internal and external) to deliver on these needs to help shape the future of our advertising capabilities across our publishing platforms.
  • Act as a strategic partner and influence colleagues across the organization to drive solutions. Lead collaboration effort with these colleagues to document business requirements, prioritize, and deliver on these requirements.
  • Develop and execute a near and long-term strategic roadmap that will drive incremental value to the business.
  • Implement and monitor beta/pilot programs when necessary.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on KPIs.
  • Plan, position, and communicate product updates to colleagues, customers, and partners.

You are expected to:

  • Demonstrate working experience with product management methodology.
  • Aid in the creation and communication of business and product strategy.
  • Integrate market knowledge, strategic insights, and user focus into product strategy and development.
  • Work with external third parties (either directly or in collaboration with internal teams) to assess partnerships opportunities.
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition, industry standards, best practices, expected outcomes, and other key considerations related to our advertising tech stack.
  • Provide insights to drive business decisions around the companys advertising products.
  • Manage discovery, implementation, integration, management, and optimization of ad technology on Wiley’s publishing platforms (ex: WOL).
  • Identify and lead internal strategic initiatives to grow technical efficiency, serving as an active contributor to Wileys overall knowledge base and expertise.
  • Work closely with the Product and Technology team/site engineers to QA/troubleshoot ad tech integrations/deployments and platform releases.
  • Identify process and workflow improvements for Ad Tech and connected teams - Sales, Sales support, and Ad Operations – with the goal of maximizing revenue and improving ad product capabilities.
  • Manage technical escalation for troubleshooting to support Ad Ops and Ad Tech coordinators.
  • Set priorities and provide a strategic and tactical vision to cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate on strategies, solutions, and architectures to achieve our business goals and help solve our advertising technology and business challenges.
  • Be accountable for ensuring a cohesive product ecosystem across each vertical and take a lead role with cross-functional technical and operations teams to design, build, and launch new features and new initiatives.
  • Apply quality assurance for our advertising systems to ensure that data is flowing correctly from one system to the next from booking, delivery, to business intelligence reporting.
  • Guide business owners and colleagues in rationalizing use of emerging technologies to drive business value by helping to evaluate new ad technology and defining requirements and execution roadmaps.
  • Work closely with other Product Managers, Delivery Managers and Solution Architects to deliver E2E solutions to achieve program vision.
  • Participate in pre-sales bids.
  • Develop, document, prioritize, and implement business requirements.
  • Manage road map delivery with external vendors.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on KPIs.


What we look for:

  • Proven track record as a Product Manager with clear knowledge of product management methodologies, deliverables and expected outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products and services, ideally in advertising space.
  • Ability to solve complex, multidisciplinary problems by using in-depth analytical or creative thinking to identify innovative solutions.
  • Ability to present to groups of experts including clients/customers.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) or proven experience in ad technology, digital ad operations, or other relevant media/advertising/technology field.
  • Proficient understanding of digital ad products, ad measurement, and programmatic advertising.
  • Experience creating and managing strategic product roadmaps to advance a digital business.

We are committed to fair, transparent pay, and we strive to provide competitive compensation in addition to a comprehensive benefits package. The range below represents Wiley’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting roles either in the UK, Canada or USA. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies. Wiley proactively displays target base pay range for UK, Canada and USA based roles.
