About the job

The Finance Data Analyst, at Hiring Company plays a critical role in supporting the company’s financial systems and related processes. This position is responsible for ensuring that financial systems (Workday Adaptive Insights and Blackline) are aligned with business needs and compliant with regulatory requirements. Finance Data Analyst will work closely with immediate team members, broader Finance/FP&A team members, as well as the IT department.

Financial Systems Maintenance:

  • Assist with regular tasks including, but not limited to, the creation of users, master data, opening/closing periods, and opening/closing versions for control management.
  • Aid in performing system preparation activities including month-end close preparation, opening system for projection and budget, and loading FX rates.

Data Integrity & Compliance:

  • Support in development and maintenance of standards for database integrity, alignment, and communication processes with other departments regarding database improvements.
  • Perform detailed data research and analysis of a large financial data set from various sources.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve data quality issues ensuring compliance.

Process Improvement:

  • Think creatively to find optimal solutions to complex problems.

User Support & Training:

  • Be a point of contact for finance teams regarding system issues, enhancements, and best practices.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to translate business needs into data requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to develop and maintain data solutions.
  • Build and maintain user friendly documentation for data models, metrics, and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field required; MBA or relevant certification (i.e. PMP, CMA, CPA) preferred.
    • Experience:
    • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in business reporting, corporate finance, FP&A, or a related field.
    • Experience in a publicly traded company, preferably within the medical device or healthcare industry.
    • Knowledge of data mining and transformation.
    • Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of Planning and ERP systems is required (Workday Adaptive Insights, Microsoft Navision, and SAP).
    • In depth knowledge Business Intelligence a plus (Qlik).
    • Appetite to work with large data.
    • Ability to communicate in an effective and efficient manner with a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • High level of attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to maintaining the integrity of financial data.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
