The Opportunity

As the Head of Strategic Communications & Marketing, you will be responsible for shaping how the world sees and talks about our company. This is first and foremost a communications and PR leadership role — you will define our narrative, own our media presence, and ensure that journalists, analysts, and industry voices are telling our story accurately and compellingly.

You will have the opportunity to build and lead the communications and marketing function from the ground up, with a strong emphasis on external visibility, thought leadership, and earned media — while ensuring strategic alignment with the company's long-term vision.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead all external PR and communications strategy, including media relations, crisis communications, executive thought leadership, and brand narrative
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key journalists, editors, and analysts across tech, robotics, and AI media, acting as a primary point of contact for press
  • Define and execute a comprehensive 12-month marketing and communications roadmap aligned with the 2-year business strategy
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing and communications team, including hiring strategy and capability development
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Board on brand positioning, media sentiment, and competitor narrative
  • Oversee internal communications to ensure a consistent and strong brand voice across all channels
  • Manage the marketing budget with a clear focus on earned media ROI and measurable brand visibility
  • Navigate high-stakes communications moments, including funding announcements, product launches, and expansion into new global markets, with clarity and confidence

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in PR, Communications, and Marketing, with significant time spent in communications-facing roles
  • An existing, active global network of relationships with tech, robotics, AI, or deep-tech media 
  • Proven track record of securing high-impact media coverage and shaping brand narrative in competitive or emerging technology categories
  • Experience building and leading teams, including hiring and mentoring managers
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate long-term vision into executable communications roadmaps
  • Experience handling complex or high-stakes brand perception challenges, including crisis communications
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to align executives, product, and commercial teams around a unified message
  • Experience in category creation, major brand repositioning, or launching an emerging technology to a mainstream audience
  • Familiarity with marketing technology stacks (CRM, CMS) and multi-channel campaign execution
